The United States remains totally committed to the defense of the Japanese people from unprovoked and unprecedented Soviet aggression. Without warning to the occupying powers, Soviet troops attacked and murdered American soldiers and Japanese civilians and continue to hold hostage thousands of servicemen. This sort of reckless behavior is totally reprehensible and is reflective of the rouge nature of communism.

The American people do not want war. In every conflict in our history we've avoided entry in every possible way. However; Americans will not tolerate communist revolutionary activities in free countries. The freedom of speech, expression, religion and our way of life depends on our willingness to pay the highest price. We will not be moved from Japan and our resolve will not be shaken.

We call upon the international community to reject Soviet expansion and demand an immediate release of American troops from captivity and a withdraw of Soviet troops from Hokkaido.

We support the United States in their efforts to defend Japan, from Soviet aggression.
